Hey everyone!

This week has been super awesome. It started out with one of our investigators that we`ve been working with for a long time accepting a baptismal date, and it ended with french toast and nutella, the women`s conference, and a baptism! So yeah, it`s been a pretty great week.

Last october, I had to watch General Conference in spanish, and it was not a very fun experience. I didn`t understand a single thing that they were saying, and it was incredibly frustrating that a Prophet of God was speaking, and I couldn`t understand what he was saying. So I haven`t been to excited for the upcoming conference, which I know isn`t a good attitude to have, but that`s how I felt. So anyway, we went to the women`s conference, and it was absolutely wonderful! It was so beautiful and amazing and it wasn`t just because I could understand what they were saying. I really hope if you didn`t get the chance to see it, you can look it up on www.lds.org. It was absolutely inspired, as are all the conferences that we have in the church. So, with that experience I`m so super excited to see general conference.

If you had the chance to talk with Moses, what would you want to know? Moses talked with God, he recieved direct revelation from Him to know the will of God for His people. Well, it`s no different today. We have a living prophet of God that gives us direction and counsel from God. A prophet receives revelation from God. When God wants us to know something or give us counsel specifically for our day and times in which we live, He speaks to His prophet, just like in ancient times. At general conference, we have the chance to listen to the voice of a prophet of God, and 12 disciples of Jesus Christ. I know that when they speak, God is speaking. Who else in the whole world can say that they have this privledge? I urge you to do all you can to attend all 4 (5 for men) of the conference sessions. I know that God speaks to us through His prophets, and if you go in a spirit of humility and faith, God will give you the counsels that you need and answer questions that you have. God will speak to you through the voice of His servants, as He always has done when His gospel has been on the earth. General Conference is so important! Please don`t forget that :)

If you want to know if Thomas S. Monson really is a prophet, ask God through prayer, and then watch a session of conference. The Holy Ghost will touch your heart, and testify that these things are true. You can`t know if something is true or not if you never ask the source of all truth and try it out for yourself.

Well, I hope you all have a great week and enjoy watching general conference in your native tongue :) I love you all so much!

Hey family and friends!

I`m sorry this is going to be super short. I put it off for the last minute.

I`ve had a super great week! We surpased our goal for 32 lessons by 5 lessons this week! It was awesome! We`re working hard and finding people to teach and we`re preparing 5 families for baptism this month. Keep them in your prayers so that they can keep progressing and learning and they can make their goal.

This week my family had a scare. They came home one afternoon to a funny smell, but just kind of shrugged it off. They went to bed that night and woke up the next morning, and the smell was stronger, and my mom was SUPER tired and wanted to go back to sleep after waking up (which she does NOT do). She went outside to feed the dog, and hurd a hissing noise, and saw that there was a gas leak. She called the gas company, and the man said, get everyone out of the house, don`t even hang up the phone, because it could cause a spark! So she got everyone up and they all got out of the house, and they came and aired out the house and well . . . long story short . . . my family is alive, and it`s a miracle. I know that the Lord is in charge. I know that they are in His hands and so am I. I`m just so grateful that my family is ok. I know that everything that happens is for a reason, and that the Lord does everything He does for our benefit. Just wanted to tell that story . . . I know that the Lord`s watching out for me and my family and that He loves us and whatever happens happens for a reason.

I love you all so much! Thanks for all your support and prayers and emails! Talk to you next week! Love you!!!

Hey everyone!

This week has been super great! We had a conference with Eld. Waddell of the Area 70, and it was awesome! We always hear exactly what we need at those conferences.

This week we did a lot of teaching and it was really awesome. However, one of the things I noticed that we did more than usual was give a lesson at the doorstep. In one instance, we were sitting with a less active 14 year old girl in her doorway, (she`s the only member in her home) and I was thinking how much better it would be, if her parents would allow us in their home, and we could teach their whole family and share our message of truthfulness and happiness with everyone in the house. This situation happens regularly, where the people have questions and want to hear a message, but for some reason, don`t want to invite us in. It makes me think how often we do that in our own lives. How are we living? Are living in a way that we can allow the Savior into our homes to really teach and minister unto us, or are we simply leaning out the window or making him stand in our doorway? How much better would our lives be if we fully lived and partook of the many blessings that the Savior and His gospel have to offer us. So what can we do? Reading the scriptures every day is good. Reading the scriptures for five minutes every day is good. But in order to invite the Savior into our home and learn of Him and allow Him to minister unto us, we should STUDY the scriptures with our families and individually every day. There are things that are good, but there are always things that are better or best. Choosing the things that are BEST will help us to invite the Savior into our home.

I hope everyone is having a great week and that you are fully taking advantage of the blessings that the restored gospel brings, like temple attendance, and general conference that`s coming up soon. I love you all so much! Hasta la proxima semana!

Hey everyone!

This week has been awesome! BECAUSE  . . . well, where to start? So there`s this girl named Pamela Ferro (kristin, you should facebook her), and she`s leaving for her mission this April to Portland, Oregon! She is the ONLY member in her family and she had to wait until she turned 18 to be baptized, because her parents wouldn`t allow it. Well, last month, we went and stopped by her house to see if we could visit them . . . her parents have never listened to the missionaries (except for her dad in the 70`s when he was more interested in a young girl who was a member of the church . . . this led to some pretty hard feelings against the church). Well, they welcomed us in their home (Pamela wasn`t there), and we gave a lesson, and little by little they`ve been opening their ears and softening their hearts. This last sunday, they had us and the elders who serve in our ward over for lunch and it was great! I am so excited because I know that this is a family that I promised I would help bring the gospel to them before we came to this earth. I´m so glad to be here and I`m so glad to be sharing the gospel with them and with the many other people that we`re teaching.

I`m super glad to hear that my family moved safely and that the ward was welcoming and is helping them get settled in the Scouts and Young Women`s program. I hope the ward takes good care of them :)

I hope everyone has had a great week and is working hard to take care of their families physically AND spiritually. I love you all so much! Thanks for all you do! Your love, prayers, letters and support mean the world to me.

Love,

Hey E`rybody!

I hope you`ve all had a fantastic week, because I sure have! We taught 34 lessons and I`m super happy and excited because we passed our goal by 2! And I know that we can teach more and do even better!

My family moved to Billings, MT this week, so I hope that everything went well for them and they can find friends and settle in. I`m so excited that they won`t have to drive 2 hours to go to stake conference or do their grocery shopping anymore.

Anyway, I`m sorry this update is going to be super short, but I`ll leave you with a spiritual thought that`s been on my mind. I read a scripture in the Book of Mormon . . . I don`t remember where it`s at, but the Lord is talking to the prophet . .  Alma, I think, and he`s saying that for those who break the commandments, ¨their doings shall be as a stumbling block for them.¨ Whenever I have a day where nothing is going right, where we have appointments and no one seems to be home, we can`t find people to teach, things just aren`t going smoothly, I think back to earlier in the day, and find that I had done something contrary to the mission rules . . . for example, maybe I didn`t start personal study at exactly 8 o´clock, or something. Yes we have trials. We will always ahve trials whether we are exactly obedient or not, but the Lord will help us and bless us in our trials, and our doings will not be ¨as stumbling blocks¨ if we are obedient and we keep the commandments in ALL things.

Well, that`s my little piece of advice for the day. I love you all so much and I hope you have a great day! I`m super happy to be here in the mission and to be working and serving the Lord. Love you all!
